Founded in 1981 by four women, Small World Preschool was initially created as a place for 3 and 4 year-old children of local families with distinct ties to the lifestyle and employment within the small community of Waimea.
Small World Preschool is a private, non-profit organization offering a full and part-time program of Preschool thru Junior Kindergarten education for 49 children ages 2 years to less than 7 years of age in a stimulating atmosphere of love and encouragement. We provide equal education for all children regardless of race, religion, sex, disability, color, economic background, or national origin. We are licensed to operate by the State of Hawaiʻi and inspected accordingly. We are also covered by insurance as prescribed by law; policy information is available upon request.
Our mission is to provide a preschool program that is developmentally based and age-appropriate. It is our desire to bring the very best of an early childhood learning experience to a child by creating a safe and exceptional learning environment from a qualified, loving, and experienced staff.
We believe that all domains of development (physical, cognitive, emotional, and social) are important and children ultimately benefit from having both teacher-directed and student-directed learning styles.
